​​​Welcome to the American Support Standards Institute (AMSI)!

 

AMSI’s mission is to enhance the well-being of both individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and the direct support workers who assist them by establishing voluntary consensus standards that promote quality, inclusivity, and professionalism in human services.

 

All AMSI standards and materials are created independently by volunteers to improve practices across the support services field. This work is carried out on a pro bono basis and is grounded in practical, field-based experience—ensuring that every standard and material reflects real needs and everyday realities.

 

AMSI is an independent initiative and not a registered legal entity.
